GALLERY: Patterson leads Lumberjacks over Storm

IROQUOIS FALLS, ON – Tyler Patterson scored twice and added one assist as the Hearst Lumberjacks defeated the Iroquois Falls Storm 6-2 at the Jus Jordan Arena on Saturday night.

Mathieu Comeau added a pair of assists for the Lumberjacks, while Damien Bourdon-Lemoyne added 1 goal and 1 assist in the win.

Patrice Lafontaine added two goals for the Storm.

Patterson opened the scoring for Hearst at 1:27 of the opening period as he netted his 31st.

Just over three minutes later, Aden Kalin added a power play marker with an assist from Patterson to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.

The Storm replied just over two minutes later as Patrice Lafontaine scored his 11th at 7:07 to cut the Lumberjacks lead to 2-1 after one period of play.

Patterson put home his second of the game and 32nd of the season on another Lumberjacks power play which made it 3-1 just past the midway point of the second period.

Late in the middle frame, the Lumberjacks increased their lead when Adam Boucher scored his 3rd which made it 4-1 after 40 minutes.

Early in the third, Damien Bourdon-Lemoyne made it 5-1 with his 11th.

Alex McDonald made it 6-1 for the Lumberjacks at 6:40 of the third period.

Lafontaine scored less than a minute later to cut the lead to 6-2 and round out the scoring.

With the win the Lumberjacks improve to 27-13-3-2 while the Storm drops to 14-33-0-2.
