The Cochrane Crunch continue to bolster their lineup with veteran players from all over North America and yesterday we finalized a trade with Fort Francis Lakers of the SIJHL.
We have traded young defenceman Presten Bobyk to the Laker’s in exchange for highly skilled 19 yr old veteran forward Hunter Buzzi.
Presten was injured most of last year with shoulder issues and didn’t get to see much ice time here. With this season the Crunch holding the Dudley we were not sure if he would get the ice here he needed as a vet. We have gone out and recruited a lot of top end veteran players from all over and just wanted to find Presten a better opportunity to develop and play.
We wish Presten all the best in Fort Francis as they are getting great young D and quality personality in Bobyk.
We were high on Hunter for a while now and we now have him in our program. Hunter is skilled and offensively gifted and plays with and edge. Ironically we made a trade a while back for Baldino Aiello and Hunter and Baldino played together with the Thunder Bay Kings AAA program for a season.
Hunter is no stranger to the North as he is from Ignace Ontario.
We look forward to seeing Hunter here in Cochrane next week!
