TIMMINS, Ont. – A solid all-around effort, including getting shutout goaltending from Dryden Riley, the Timmins Rock went on to blank the Iroquois Falls Storm 4-0 in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League Sunday matinee at McIntyre Arena.

Connecting on a delayed penalty, Timmins made it 1-0 nearly seven minutes into the match-up as Reece Liu managed to get a piece of a low Ethan Albert attempt from the point.

Going up by a pair in the second stanza, Jaden Lyons forced a turnover which allowed Henry McLellan to roar down the right wing where he made a slight move to the middle and ripped a shot over the blocker of Storm starter Maverick Fletcher at 3:34.

After countering in transition in the neutral zone a couple of shifts later, Timmins made it 3-0 as Braedyn Cyr came down the left side and sent a feed in front where Ryan Boon skated in and lifted in his third of the season.

Taking their three-goal cushion into the third, the home side put it out of reach with just over five minutes to play thanks to Thomas Beard who finished off a give-and-go with Cyr by ripping one high by Fletcher from the top of the right circle.

Riley and the Rock defensive corps did the rest in securing the victory while improving to 8-2-0-0 overall.

With the loss, the Storm slipped to 4-8-0-0.
