COCHRANE, Ont. – Gage Tremblay scored once and assisted on another to aid in 4-2 victory for the Timmins Rock over the Cochrane Crunch in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League match-up Friday at Tim Horton Events Centre.
Action in the opening stanza saw Cochrane out shoot Timmins 11-5, but it was the visiting Rock who collected the only marker of the first as a late power play helped John Anderson bang one in at 17:38.
Timmins then tacked on another 11:52 into the second period before the Crunch got going offensively late in the session on Hunter Buzzi’s 13th at 18:37.
Moving on to the third, Cochrane tied it with 11:12 to go, but the Rock rebounded getting the winner off the stick of Ben Jossinet with under five minutes left in regulation before Timmins’ captain Derek Seguin iced it with a late empty netter to secure the road triumph.
Tyler Masternak in the Rock net made 31 saves to record the win with Bradley Dobson saw 24 shots fired his way in a losing cause for Cochrane.
