COCHRANE, Ont. – The Timmins Rock got a pair of tallies from Tyler Patterson, including the game-winner, as part of a 3-1 victory vs. the Cochrane Crunch Friday in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League contest at Tim Horton Events Centre.
Timmins got going offensively near the 11-minute mark of the first period as Justin Charette snagged a loose puck and stuffed it into the open side.
Up a player nine and a half minutes into the second stanza, Cochrane tied it off a nice give-and-go that was completed by an Ethan Ingram one-timer.
However, the Rock came right back to regain the lead less than a minute later with Patterson putting one in at the right of Crunch netminder Michael Nickolau.
Clicking via the man advantage in the third, Timmins went up by a pair on Patterson’s second of the night as he deflected a Cameron Dutkiewicz effort from the point at 9:35.
Neither side converted the rest of the way as the Rock skated away with the road win.
Gavin McCarthy in the Timmins net made 19 saves to pick-up the triumph while Nickolau faced 42 attempts in defeat.
