COCHRANE, Ont. – A Stewart Parnell tally with 2:09 remaining in double overtime lifted the Timmins Rock to a 2-1 triumph over the Cochrane Crunch Friday in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League play at Tim Horton Event Centre.
After a scoreless opening 20 minutes, Cochrane collected the night’s initial tally 13:12 into the middle stanza thanks to the second of the season by Eli Hernandez.
Timmins came back early in the third to force extra time compliments of a C.J. Bradburn effort 85 seconds into the frame.
It remained scoreless throughout the remainder of regulation and one five-minute OT session before Parnell finished off the low-scoring affair to give the Rock the second point on the night.
Netminder Eric Jackson turned in a solid performance for Timmins in recording the win as he stopped 42 of the 43 shots he saw on the night.
Taylor Unruh finished with 27 saves in goal in the OT setback helping the Crunch pick up a point in the match-up.
