IROQUOIS FALLS, ON – Tyler Patterson and Owen Hey had two goals each to lead the visiting Hearst Lumberjacks to a 7-2 win over the Iroquois Falls Storm at the Jus Jordan Arena Sunday night.

The Storm opened the scoring when Ben Sherwin converted on a shorthanded opportunity as he deked Lumberjacks goalie Tristan Boileau just under 7 minutes in for a 1-0 lead.

The Lumberjacks responded on a broken play as Owen Hey used his quick release to beat Storm goalie Brodie Haylock to even things at 1-1 near the 10-minute mark.

The visitors grabbed their first lead in the second as Tyler Patterson finished off a give-and-go with Aiden Kalin to give the Lumberjacks a 2-1 lead at 6:03.

With that momentum from the go-ahead goal, the Lumberjacks put more pressure on the Storm and eventually Noah Janicki ripped a shot from the right point through traffic and past Haylock for a 3-1 lead.

The Storm replied shortly after as Andre Cho deflected a Mathieu Roy point shot past Boileau to make it 3-2 at 8:52.

Late in the second, the Lumberjacks cashed in on the power play on a nice three-way passing play finished by Tyler Patterson as he recorded his 27th to make it 4-2 Lumberjacks at the break.

Early in the third, the Lumberjacks power play continued to roll as DonHeaven Veilleux made it 5-2 at 1:09.

Near the 8-minute mark of the third, the Lumberjacks scored again as Boswell was credited on a scramble goal at the Storm goal mouth which made it 6-2.

Hey added his second of the game with under 2 minutes left in the period to round out the scoring in Iroquois Falls.

The win moves the Lumberjacks past the Voodoos for second in the East with a record of 23-12-3-2 while the Storm fall to 11-30-0-2.
