HEARST, Ont. – Breaking open a one-goal game with a pair of Theo Bourdon-Lemoyne third period markers lifted the Hearst Lumberjacks to an eventual 5-1 victory over the Iroquois Falls Storm in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action Friday at Claude Larose Recreation Centre.

An evenly played first period went without a tally thanks in part to Storm starter Lucas Cardiff-Bilodeau, who was making his NOJHL debut, and the Lumberjacks Owen Bonthuis.

In the middle frame, each side connected early on with Hunter Kelso striking for Hearst at 1:30 by capitalizing on a turnover from between the circles.

Nika Lessard countered for Iroquois Falls right after that with his first NOJHL goal as he roofed a back pass put his way by Alex Bedic.

The Lumberjacks countered at 5:49 to retake the lead as Hugo Allard took a draw won back to him by Cole Shepherson and promptly whipped it upstairs from the top of the right circle.

Supplying some insurance with just over 12 minutes to go, Bourdon-Lemoyne ripped a short-side sizzler past Cardiff-Bilodeau.

Bourdon-Lemoyne then secured the home ice triumph on his next shift as he was neatly set-up by Mathieu then lifted in his second in rapid succession.

The assist for Comeau sees him extended a consecutive game point streak to 14 straight contests.

Wrapping it up with a late shorthanded effort, Hearst’s Mavrik Chan-Miguel flew up the left wing and while driving hard to the net put a shot into the corner for his fifth of the season to conclude the scoring.

With the win, the Lumberjacks improve to 17-6-0-2 and in the setback, the Storm slipped to 8-17-0-2.
