HEARST, Ont. – The Hearst Lumberjacks saw Hugo Allard pick-up the eventual game-winner and dish out a pair of assists Sunday night as part of a 7-1 victory over the Iroquois Falls Storm in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action at Claude Larose Recreation Centre.
The Lumberjacks started the scoring neatly six minutes into the match-up when Cole Shepherdson swatted a puck out of mid-air past Storm starter Lucas Cardiff-Bilodeau off an Allard shot.
Tacking on another, Hearst reversed it on their next marker, which came midway through the first period, as Allard collected a draw won over to him by Shepherdson and whipped it in to give him goals in three straight outings.
Heading to the middle frame, Cameron Menard helped begin a transition the other way in the neutral zone that led to him finishing off a sharp cross-ice Dylan Garvin feed to collect his NOJHL-best 33rd tally of the season to make it 3-0 for the home side.
A man-down marker at 6:24 extended the Lumberjacks lead as Mathieu Comeau chipped a play ahead into the Iroquois Falls end where he pulled up and fed an open Chase Thompson, who went to the net alone and wired in his 21st of the campaign.
Not done there, Theo Bourdon-Lemoyne clicked for the Jacks with still plenty of game remaining as he promptly pumped in a short pass from Allard that left Cardiff-Bilodeau little chance.
After Nathan Boudreau entered in relief for the Storm, he was greeted with one on the power play as Mavrick Chan-Miguel roofed a wrister off of Comeau’s 50th assist of 2025-26.
Getting one back, Owen Goodwin beat netminder William Stonehouse by spinning after scooping up a rebound and finalizing a Connor Desbois attempt towards the target.
Finishing it off in the third period, some crisp passing led to Menard lifting in his second of the evening as his 34th overall completed another Garvin set-up with 6:12 to go to close it out.
With the triumph, the Lumberjacks improve to 24-8-0-3 and with the loss, the Storm sink to 11-23-2-2.
